Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want to better understand yourself and your relationships, therapy can be a great place to start.

  • Therapists are trained professionals who provide nonjudgmental support and use evidence-based tools to help you reach your goals. We will never offer our opinions or personal advice on a given matter.

  • The length of therapy depends on your goals and the issues you’d like to address. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy, while others find ongoing support helpful. My goal is to “work myself out of a job.”

  • Most clients start with weekly sessions. As progress is made, we may meet biweekly. I generally prefer clients to meet weekly for the first four sessions to get some momentum.

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, though some extended sessions may be available upon request.

    EMDR and ART sessions are 90 minutes long.

  • Monday through Thursday. 9:30a - 5:00p (4:00p session start).

  • You can request a free phone consultation directly through the contact form or client portal. I will follow up to confirm a time that works for you.

  • Your first session is mainly about getting to know you—your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. It’s also a chance to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit. This sessions usually lasts 60 minutes.

  • I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges, among others. See the “About” page for an extensive list.

    I will provide alternative referral sources for clients whose needs fall outside my scope of practice, including children or adolescents, individuals with high suicidal risk, active substance use, court-mandated therapy, couples experiencing active domestic violence or going through divorce, and certain personality disorders. I may not be the best fit for these situations, but I would be happy to help you find a provider who is.

  • Yes, online sessions are available for clients who prefer to meet virtually. However, my preference is to use those in the case where in-person in not an option. The experience you recieve in person is unmatched through telehealth.

  • I am out-of-network and can provide a superbill for reimbursement.

  • Session fees are self-pay. Payments can be made via credit/debit card, HSA/FSA, cash, or check.

  • You must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. You will be responsible for paying 100% of your session fee if you cancel less than 24 hours of your session.

  • Yes. Everything you share in session is confidential, except in cases where I am required by law to report. If I learn you are at risk to yourself or others, of child abuse, or elder abuse, I will be mandated to report the matter.
